Episode 3: Computing Courage- Finding the wisdom that possesses courage

Recently I had the opportunity to speak at a church event. For about 4 weeks I studied and meditated on God’s word, asking the Holy Spirit what message I was to bring forth. I eventually got my answer as I felt the impression to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to me- and my situations personally and specifically. Once I did I was able to formulate a powerful message that I feel spoke not only to me personally and the audience that was present but I also believe that message was for all of you who are connected to me through this mailing list and other online platforms! The message stems from the topic of Wisdom. Have you ever felt like you know all you need to know but for some reason you are still not taking action? Are you like the cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz?

Well.... that’s exactly what this talk is all about. This message that I want you to hear is about COURAGE! It’s about finding out what’s stopping you from doing what you know to do and more importantly it’s about giving you the cure to that disease I call stagnation! When we talk about wisdom that ultimately leads to COURAGE I address 3 things that I felt stopped me in my own life!

In the message you will hear me speak about how being DOUBLE-MINDED, LACKING SELF-LOVE, and LACKING SUFFERING can be some major roadblocks on our journey to COURAGE! For each of these roadblocks or 3 glitches as I refer to them in the speech, I also included the CURE to fix the glitch! After hearing this message many have come to me and let me know how instrumental it has been to them! I truly believe that this word will bless you and give you the ability to begin to move toward taking action in your life! I have also provided to you my outline of the speech and please click below to hear the audio of the speech

Topic: Courage

Title: Computing Courage- Finding the wisdom that possesses courage!

Main Scripture: 1 James 1: 2-6
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways

Prayer: Father God, today allow me to see myself completely under your Grace. By the power of the Holy Spirit allow me to see myself as forever forgiven and righteous. Lead me to see myself as the righteousness of God. I praise and thank you for your precious Son in which I have received the gift of righteousness through his perfect life, death and resurrection.  Father whenever I am tempted to see myself under the Law or in a manner that leads me to be self-absorbed , self-righteous and self-focused , make me aware that I am actually walking in a spirit of performance and self-righteousness. Lord teach me to quickly repent from that spirit and mindset and remind me that those who wish to be under the Law will be judged by the Law which Lead me to see you the abundance of your acceptance.

Glitch 1: Double mindedness

Cookie 1: righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5 16-21)

Scripture: So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Glitch 2: Lack of self-love

Cookie 2: God’s Love (John 3:16)

Scripture: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Glitch 3: Lack of suffering

Cookie 3: suffering produces success (Romans: 5:3-5)

Scripture: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us
